If there was one thing we wanted to do this summer it was to keep everyone safe. Southampton is a place of love, hugs, friendships and memories that will last a lifetime. With the current situation and the unknown of the future months, we have decided to take a “summer vacation” and not open for our 2020 season. If you know the Southampton Day Camp family, you know there is nothing like a big ole Hampy hug or a walk down to Lake Daniel with your best friends to make your wish for next summer. Although our one wish didn’t turn out as planned, we can promise you that summer’21 will be better than ever. The music will be loud. The laughter will be contagious. The hugs will be filled with more love than ever before. Southampton isn’t just a camp. The staff and camp families are what make people come back year after year. This summer might be different, but we can promise you that when you pull up to camp in June 2021 there will be smiling faces, Uncle Rick and Aunt Jacque, and 3 friendly owls waiting for you! As we always say at Southampton, “From the outside looking in you could never understand. From the inside looking out, we could never explain. Sending lots of love and warm Hampy hugs. Keep your camp friends close and don’t forget where you came from!

Here is to Summer ‘21. The summer of the big return💛🤎 #ForeverHampy

PRAISE FROM PARENTS

“I always said that SSDC was the safest place on the planet to send your children.”

“Although Meredith is heartbroken that she won’t be spending her summer at SSDC, we thank you for your thoughtful and caring approach in coming to this difficult decision. We appreciate you putting our children’s safety first. Can’t wait for Summer 2021!”

“Thank you so much for how you’ve approached this terrible situation. Your genuine love and care for the campers and their families was clear throughout this. We hope you and your family stay well and safe.”

“Our hearts are with SSDC. We are beyond sad about camp closing but know that this decision had to be made. Ari made his forever friends at camp and we are so thankful for all that you do for so many families.#hampyforever.”

“We would like to sincerely thank you for the time and effort you put into this difficult situation. While Daniel is very sad to miss his favorite summer place, we all fully support your ultimate decision. Safety is most important, and you’ve truly shown genuine concern for your campers and SSDC families. Please know how much we appreciate your true dedication and care. We can’t wait for next summer!!”

“We were so touched by the sincerity and honesty in your heartfelt letter. It gives us such comfort to know how dedicated you are to the camp and children, and it is clearly your love for SSDC that makes it such a wonderful place. The children (and parents) are sad, but we know that next summer will be better than ever. Thank you for looking out for the kids and the camp. Stay safe and strong! We can’t wait to see you soon!”

WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND WE CAN PROMISE WE WILL COME BACK STRONGER THAN EVER IN SUMMER 2021 BECAUSE WE HAVE YOU ALL ON OUR SIDE!
